I just had a chance to play a Santa Cruz ukulele at a music store located in the far Western suburbs of St. Louis. The Santa Cruz is a very nice sounding uke with a classical basic appearance. Examining the uke, it was easy to tell that it was meticulously hand crafted. When I looked at the price tag of $1800, I gently laid it to rest where I found it. Folks, once again, I don't find $1800 of value in this ukulele.
This should more be like a novelty item that could be found in the Neiman Marcus (Needless Markup) catalog.
