This is my Kala KA-S Soprano I bought at Ukulele Source in San Jose back in November last year. It was my starter uke. But I just bought a new Ohana, and the other half doesn't want me to end up with a uke collection.
I haven't really brought it around anywhere but I noticed when taking pictures that there a couple dings that are noted in the pictures. I'm pretty sure these where there when I bought it. There are no cracks and the open pore finish is pretty cool.
It's been set up with ~1mm action at the 1st fret, and 2.5mm at the 12th. The intonation is good. The saddle has been replaced with a compensated synthetic bone and the sound is awesome from it. The volume became louder, the notes have a bit more separation and the sustain improved! The tuners work nicely and the open geared design doesn't really weight it down at all. Strung with original aquila strings. No buzzing.
I will include a chromatic tuner as well as a gigbag for a great beginner set!
$60 shipped in the continental US.
