Installing a pick up: would a Kamaka sound that much better than a Kala?

I moved this here on my own because I only had two replies in the "Uke Talk" section. They were good replies, I was just hoping for even more information. Anyhow this all started because I was reading old threads about amplifying acoustic instruments and I started wondering that since you're amplifying vibrations at the saddle, how much does the quality of the instrument influence the sound? Would my Kamaka tenor sound that much better than my Kala tenor if I were to install a mi-si pick-up?

Also, would installing a pick up in my Kamaka adversely affect the way it sounds?
