not long ago I bought a beautiful Plastic Mauna Loa ukulele off eBay. Only problem is it has 3 tuners. I actually bought it for only $15 bucks after the seller had no bids and I emailed him asking him to lower his starting price due to the missing and nearly irreplaceable tuner. This Uke has no scratches or cracks, shines like new and still has the box. But what do I about this tuner? I read several posts on this site suggesting a 1/4 violin peg, so I bought one off ebay (one? I thought I was getting four. I need to pay attention to the auction terms)

I knew the violin peg would need modification, but it's actually too large around to even fit in the hole. My orginal tuner is a metal key shaped thing. Anyone have any of these for sale at any price? Does any modern tuner fit this narrow, fragile plastic uke? http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii130/robxcarlson/DSCF1431.jpg

Have you tried sanding down the violin peg to fit the hole?

No, not yet - it's a lot thicker.
