Here's a picture I thought y'all might enjoy..at least those who haven't seen it before.

You may remember Neil Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon. After that Apollo 11 flight, the crew was quarantined in a trailer kind of facility for a few weeks to make sure they didn't bring home any Moon bugs, and during that time, the person who had just become the tip of the spear of mankind's greatest adventure killed time playing his ukulele. Nice to know, isn't it.

(Of course it would have been even more cool if he had played it while he was actually on the moon)

Cheers,

Now that's really far out!

That is most excellent!

We went to the moon?

Some of us went Chuck, not all.

It was without a doubt the most excellent adventure. Less than a decade from conception to execution with technology less than 1% of your basic IPhone. In 1967, the record altitude we achieved was about 850 miles; within 2 years, we were able to fly 250.000 miles to the moon, hit the orbit at just the right angle, fly back and and splash down. If we as a culture are capable of stuff like that (not to mention the capability to make music that will make you smile or cry), how can we be so cement brained stupid, chickenshit fearful, and blindly unproductive as we are today....yeesh.

One thing that you can never take away from the US of A however, is that when the first man to walk on the moon made it back home, he picked up his ukulele and chilled. How cool is that?!?!!?

Very cool picture. Thank you for sharing.
