As I'm inclined to be a bit of a "Gadget" type person, I'm always on the look out for good ideas:)
I found this great design for cutting Kerfs on the Australian/New Zealand Luthiers Forum..I'ts a stationary device that clamps to the bandsaw and you push/pull the swinging arm in and out to cut the Kerfs...and it automaticly feeds the workpiece.

My kerf cutter is a different design where the whole assembly slides in the table slots up against a fixed cam.

Hah! That's darned clever and fun to watch. But doing one strip at a time? Not really for me.

How do you do it? I was under the impression that they were made by making a bunch of parallel cuts into a board with the table saw, which dont penetrate all the way through, then rip of the linings at the desired width.
