Louie Louie and the ukulele

I am reading an entertaining book by Dave Marsh called "Louie Louie: The History and Mythology of the World's Most Famous Rock & Roll Song, Including the Full Details of Its Torture and Persecution at the Hands of the Kingsmen, J. Edgar Hoover's FBI, and a Cast of Millions..." - yes, it's about how an innocent sea shanty became a national matter that involved the FBI, protests, bands, outraged parents and imagined dirty lyrics.

Anyway, in a chapter about the writer, Richard Berry, Marsh quotes Berry's musical introduction early years in a camp for handicapped kids:

I met a counselor up there. His name was Bill... and he taught me how to play the ukulele, of all things. I used to walk around junior high school playing the ukulele, you know, and doing talent shows and everything.

Just shows that the ukulele is the start of so many things... who knows, had he stuck to it, maybe Louie Louie might have ended up the ukulele anthem in the 60s instead of Tiptoe Through the Tulips.
