My in-laws have been visiting for a couple of days on their way to see my wife's sister's family. Yesterday, my Mother-in-law was singing a song she remembered from Girl Scouts. I thought it sounded like a good ukulele song, so when we got home, I looked it up. It turns out that it was written in 1928, during the height of the original ukulele boom.
It also turns out that it is much longer and somewhat racier than the tiny Girl-Scout-Friendly fragment that she remembers... anyway, after dinner tonight, we slapped this together.

Your mom-in-law is totally the cutest! thanks for sharing :)

Frank Crumit actually played the uke himself, and he recorded some GREAT comedy songs in the 20s and 30s. There are
cds available as far as I know.

After I learned when it was written, I suspected that it might have actually been written for uke.
