Aloha!

Just purchased D'Addario J65 Clear Nylon strings for soprano to replace the Aquilas on my Ohana SK-20S (solid mahogany top, laminate back & sides), and here are few details;

Note|Diameter(inch)|Tension(lbs)

B|.024|7.6
F#|.032|7.6
D|.034|5.4
A|.028|8.2

Haven't tried it out, wanna collect some feedbacks first. Actually, the local ukulele store guy advise me to choose D'Addarios instead of Martin M600, so what do you think? Would it be nice on my soprano?

Thanks! :D

I prefer D'Addario to Martin. I've found that nylon strings usually get more of the depth out of my soprano ukuleles than fluorocarbon strings. The combination of J65 strings on your SK-20S (nice uke!) should be a good match.

Of course, after a few months of play you'll need new strings again. May as well try the Martin set then to determine your preference.

I've used this string on sopranos a few times... On some ukes, it gives it a very mellow, pleasant warm tone.
On some, it just makes it sound dead, weak and floppy.

So it really depends on the uke.

I like the Martin fluorocarbons better. They have more tone and sustain.
Or it could just be this particular uke that likes the Martins better than the D'addario..
