When you buy new strings, are all the strings the same in the packet? Are they the Same size or are the strings different sizes and certain strings go on certain peg?

Sorry if you think it's a silly question I just haven't got a clue.

Each string is a different thickness, each in its own envelope inside the string package, and each is labeled for the position that it fits on your uke. The diameters are also different for different sizes of uke, and different brands can have different standard thicknesses.

Buy some and try changing them on your own! It will do wonders for your confidence and help you to get to know your instrument. Just remember that it can take up to two weeks for strings to stretch enough to hold their tuning for extended periods of time. The first day you will have to retune after every song.

They're all different thickness (diameters) to represent GCEA of gCEA but all the same length depending on which size uke you've bought it for. Mind you, from what I've seen, soprano and concert strings are the same diameter but tenor's A string is a wee thicker (0.205" vs 0.224") looking at Worth's website.

PS: Allan beat me to it! lol

I've only bought Aquila's so far, but these come in separate packets with a colour coded dot on each to indicate where they go. There is a legend on the outer pack.
Assuming G C E A tuning on a soprano, concert or tenor Uke I believe there are 3 different sizes, with the G and A strings being the same gauge. I could be wrong about that though so don't quote me! I'm sure somebody a bit more knowledgeable than me will be along soon to clarify.
