I just bought a new banjo uke made by vintage.Pais £260 for it.Any 1 know about them?

Welcome chipfoose. I think you may have to give us a little more info on your purchase, there isn't a lot to go on there. Do you have the model number? And a picture speaks a thousand words..... ;)

What I want to know, myself being a huge 35+ year classic auto and hot rod enthusiast, are you "The" Chip Foose? If so, damn I would love to meet you and drool over your work.. Love your stuff & Welcome to my other hobby.. ;) If not, well, welcome to my hobby.. hehheh

Sorry I am not him but I do the same as him 4 a living.I own a car bodyshop in uk and kick ass at spraying and panel beating!!

Cool, I don't anymore due to health reasons, but I also build and restored classic cars, and hot rods. Built and had countless over the years. My current being a 48 Plymouth 2 dr Sedan. I do most everything from motor, drive line builds, interior, paint and finish. Also some light welding, and body welding/work. The only thing I don't do is structural welding. I will tack structural components, but farm out the finish welding for that to someone that has better equipment and skills trustworthy of putting your life in their hands. ;)

Wish I could add some input on the banjo-uke. But other than saying it looks nice, I don't know anything about that one. Take it to Jasper Happy in the UK. I like that guy, and he is a big Banjo-Uke guy. Long history of it, as well as what his father did for a living.

Hmmm, the headstock is different from all of the commonly sold banjo ukes in the U.S. Looks like a deluxe model though. Many ukes available in Europe are marketed with different names than those over here. It could well be basically a Lanikai with a different headstock shape. Several of this type of banjo ukes are manufactured in the same factory.

I would have to say its certainly cheap at that price, but whether that is because you got a bargain, or another reason I couldn't say.
How does it play? How does it sound? What is the finish like. I reckon as long as you are happy with it, then you have a bargain.

Hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like the same Banjo Uke that sells under the Tyler Mountain name here in the US, Ashbury in the UK, and several other names I've seen. Behold:

I think it's also been sold as a Hohner and a Vintage. They all come out of the same factory in China. I have one of the Ashbury's. It's a good one, but I don't play it a lot.

I couldn't remember the Tyler Mountain brand, but with this headstock, I agree that's probably what it is. With a deluxe resonator, you won't find much cheaper.
