Zoid Tuner Problem

I have a Zoid Z-1000 tuner that seems to be having a problem.
When I turn it on the screen is just full of lines and is flashing. I have to keep pressing the on button to try and shut off. I keep doing this and eventually I get a clear screen. Possibly a battery problem? I've only had for 6 months. Thought I would ask here before going out and spending money on a battery that may not solve the problem.

Thanks. It was the battery. They only cost 6 bucks but needed a second opinion.

No offense, but $6 for a CR2032 a Lithium battery? I just picked up a couple for less than $2 apiece (Ray O Vac) while we were grocery shopping. Or get 'em online @ http://www.brooklynbatteryworks.com/cr2032/?sort=bestselling&gclid=CNSdhdPplasCFQo0Qgod2HQIuw . . . just pointing out those can be found for a significantly cheaper cost, unless they're some kinda special use only this type/brand as per manufacturer.
