I currently have a Kala KA-6 and enjoy playing it more than any of my other ukes. I am looking for that next step up in quality, maybe a spruce or cedar top without breaking the bank. Any recommendations under $500.00 ?

Maybe look at Mele. They make some six strings that might be priced in that range.

Unless you're in denial, another option would be to save for another couple months and get a Kamaka or Kanile'a or KoAloha or ???? . . .
Kanile'a K1 UV - $990 + $115 (6 String) +S&H
KTM-06 Imaikalani Tenor 6-String Ukulele – MSRP $1080
Kamaka HF-36 - MSRP $1,230
Still another option: Call Mike Pereira (http://mpukuleles.com/home.html)

Thanks for the suggestions.... I may save for on the "K" brands.... or the Ohana 5 string is sounding delicious as I research a bit. (If I can find one) !
