Last year I created a Ukulele Calendar and the proceeds went to "Ukes for Kids". It was a lot of work and very time consuming, so I want to see how many people are interested in another Uke Calendar for next year. You can check out the 2011 one here http://www.cafepress.com/ukulelestore.487344151

Let me know if you're interested, and if there are any of you out there that have some fantastic calendar worthy photos of your ukes, especially if they are in interesting settings or if they have an unusual design, I would love to see them. See the current calendar for ideas. I am not looking for snapshots or ukes-on-a-couch shots. They need to be beauty shots, high res for 11" x 11" printing, with nice lighting and no hot spots from a flash. Make sure the background is uncluttered and attractive. If your photo is chosen, I will give you a choice of a Uke Leash product from my website. You can send photos to me at ukeleash@me.com.

I would be interested in a calendar; my wife and I always get an interesting calendar for the kitchen so this would be perfect.

I'll see if I can stage some pictures of my ukes for consideration.

I would be interested, looks like a very nice product, and who can argue with the cause.

I got a couple of them last year and gave all but one as gifts, and they were well-received. If a 2012 calendar was ready in time this year, I'd buy one for me and some to donate to the raffle at my Tuesday night ukulele's class's holiday party.

I'll get another one too. (Even though I don't think my ukulele will be on it again. That was kinda thrilling.)

Yes Lori, I'd like a couple, if they're available by early December.

If they're not available until January 1, I'll have to see if I can replace whatever calendar my wife will have given me by then.

I sure hope Scott Zuziak sees this, his carved Tahitian ukes are out of this world and would be spectacular in your calendar Lori. If he doesn't chime in I'll see if I can contact him.

UU member V74 has quite a few really nice artsy shots of some high quality ukes.

Thanks Chuck, I agree. Scott has contacted me, and I hope to get some of his ukes in the next calendar. I would like to also get more of your handiwork in the next one too. Hope you have been taking good photos this year. I spoke to Mike DeSilva at Wine Country Uke Fest, and I hope to have another one of his featured. I need to see what Dave Talsma is up to these days, and I have my own Mya-Moe resonator to photograph, so that will be fun. Then, there are our friends at Kala, Ohana, and Fluke/ Flea... it would be fun to show their new designs too. I would like to include a banjo uke this year. I have a Mainland banjo uke, but if anyone out there has a good banjo uke entry, please feel free to send it.

Also, Jerry Hoffman at Boat Paddle ukes has some really nice shots of his work on his site all the time.
I would love to feature a M style Boat Paddle

I have started to get some photos already. It looks promising, so I will start the calendar creating process. Ideally it would be best to have it all designed and ready to purchase on Café Press by mid October. So, if you are a photographer, try and get your photos to me by September 30th. ukeleash@me.com

I am interested Lori, and it was GREAT to meet you in person at the WCUF!

Would you consider including a vintage uke or two? I really enjoy the calendar you did last year and will buy a new one if you make them!

I will consider those. Nice Ukes. Standard flash photography is not showing them off very well. The boat paddle lighting is nice, but the image is too small for print, I believe. The Mya-Moe photos are too small for print also. My goal is to have a calendar that has an image that will be entertaining for a whole month. So, every detail needs to be attended to to maintain interest for a whole month. Good lighting and composition, and a complimentary background is important.

I kinda figured they would be too small...figured I'd offer either way!
