help with ukulele

It might help to have more information. For example, do you already own one or more ukuleles, or would this be your first one? What factors did you use to narrow your search to these two ukuleles?

It looks like both ukuleles are laminates (veneer over an inexpensive wood) so they're likely to sound similar and you could shoose on the basis of which one you liked the looks of better. Lanikai is an established company. Vineyard may also be an established company, but I haven't heard of them. All things being equal, I might pay the extra money to buy an ukulele from a known manufacturer with a good reputation.

If you're near a music store that sells ukuleles, you should try to play some before you select one, and try to play the specific models you're considering if you can. If you're going to buy online without playing them first, check the return policy of the seller, just in case you don't like what you buy.

In that range I would go with the Lanikai solid mahogany uke (LSM-T). I have a concert size and used to have a Tenor. Good ukes for the money. I think it would sound better than the two laminate top ukes you are looking at and is in a similar price range.

You can hear the uke on my YouTube page as well as a review.
