Sven, there is a striking difference in sound. Not just louder but the cedar top is much richer in harmonics.
To what do you atribute most of that to? The diference in materials over #1 or an improved skill level? Or perhaps a combination of both?
Good work and excellent results sir.
What glue did you use? (oops, sorry; just kidding).

Hi! Sven,
beautiful cedar top uke. I like the sound a lot, but I kind of miss seeing your kids running around in the video...haha.
I like the binding. It looks very nice in between the cedar and the tiger myrtle.

I would say (in order) construction, materials, then experience. My hog soprano was number 3 ever, built in 2008. The new one is number 39. Many ukes in between. I now consider myself an experienced hobby builder.

It's full of dings though. I like 85% of it to 90%, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the kind words. And I know Li makes better vids than I do...

Glue? You're supposed to use glue? I nailed it together...

I know it's a soprano, but it looks huge! Love that tiger myrtle, I have a tiger myrtle and sinker redwood ready for finish. I hope it turns out as nice. I had to check the aragapa blog cuz my internet sometimes hates utube. Grant's a lucky guy.
