I just read this Jake interview in Fretboard Journal. They mention upcoming issues will feature Eddie Vedder and a Jake profile.

Interesting read, thanks for sharing. I find it interesting that Jake only has 4 or 5 ukes. I need to do more practicing on the uke I own instead of searching for the next shiny one.

And apparently all Kamakas.

Surprise that Jake doesn't feel anything special about the slotted head, so it was Kamaka's design idea not his.
and yeah I think 4-5 instruments are enough for a serious musician, too many will just occupy your time to get familiar with each one.

Very interesting. Thanks for the link and the info on the next issue. Will have to check if they can send overseas at a hopefully not too pricy shipping!!!

Funny to hear Jake saying "Kamaka prefers to build slot heads"! Really?

I just got my hard copy issue of Fret Board Journal. Unless some pages fell out at the post office there's no mention of Jake in the issue. Must be an on-line thing only.
