Getting Ready for my Second Kit Build

Hello all,

I'm getting ready to start my second Stew Mac tenor. Here's the plan.

Going to try and bind it with wood. I'm a little worried about the lining though, because it is thin. Can I use a regular kerfed lining to give me a little more clearance?

Going with Low G this time too. My first tenor is re-entrant and want to make this one different.

I might do a binding on the head too. Just to set it off.

What else?

"Kerfing Tom" Peterson in Glen Ellen, CA makes small kerfed linings specifically for ukes and mandolins, but you probably can't buy direct from him unless you get at least $100.00 worth of kerfing. LMI does stock it though, and yes, you can use the stuff, and it will give you that extra bit of glue surface margin you're wanting. Nothing sacred about any of these kits, and making modifications and substituting parts is a great way to learn this craft.
