Hiya,

Extending my knowledge of barre chords and have come across the the G barre played with the high G one step down...e.g

1343

tried barring with first finger but find the g shape difficult, and wondered how you guys pull this one off. I normally use

5343 but would love to be able tu use them both,

Any ideas,

Chris

I think you meant 4232 for a G; 5343 is G#

Just work that Bm7(2222) barre finger. Once you gain some pinch strength in the pointer finger, the other fingers can relax a bit and your overall effort will be less.

The action of the uke may have an effect on your ability to get a clean barre. It is possible, but much more difficult to barre a uke with high action at the 2nd fret.

Again, just practice more and those finger and wrist muscles will get stronger.

Thanks for that reply....Yep I moved 'the G shape' up a step so I could explain I wanted the dropped note on the g string...(so difficult to explain without pics so thanks for your perseverance!

If I'm getting it...it is the barre finger which takes the lower step g note and the g chord shape is formed by the last 3 fingers....Thanks for that, and as they say...'no pain, no gain'.

Regards,

Chris
