Be careful. Some squires are good but most are not so good. One from the 80s would be a good one tho more then the new cheap ones they have. An early squire probably around $300 to $350 for an early one which were the best.

I second the craigslist search. There's always a surge of instruments right before the holidays as people try to make some cash. Just use your head and give it a good once over.
Actually, the current squier classic vibe series are great guitars. I recently purchased a squier classic vibe custom Tele that imo was better than any mexi tele that was in the store and stood up to the american standards without looking terrible.
