I am converting a Yamaha 1/2 size guitar to an 8 String baritone ukulele.
I presently have only 4 strings on it, but I have already fallen in love with the sweet, mellow sound and the markedly increased volume.
The only string sets I have been able to locate are Qquila.
They do not say if they are octaves, doubles or a mix.
If they are a mix do any of you know which strings are octaves?
Do any of you have experience with an 8 string Baritone Uke with all octaves?
If so, where might I find a set of strings in octaves?

Also, I want to convert it to acoustic/electric and I have a clue what might be the best approach.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Bob

What's the scale on your Yamaha? It's an acoustic?

The Yamaha has a 21" scale and it is classical acoustic.
I am installing a K&K twin spot internal pickup to make it acoustic/electric.

Thanks for any help

We have something you could try. It's brand new. It's not an all octave set - I'd don't know of anyone doing that - but it's probably the only set designed for C tuning on a Baritone (20" scale). No wound strings. More info here:
