This is a very cool thing - both the giveaway and the idea behind kiva.org

Bravo!

I just made loans #54, 55, 56, and 57. I guess I have KLAS (Kiva loan acquisition syndrome). Thanks, Mike, for encouraging the ukulele community to help hardworking people who are less fortunate.

I want to share that a colleague was retiring at the end of September. As a retirement gift, I gave her a Kiva card with $200 on it and told her about how to use the card. She will enjoy this very much as it is totally congruent with her values. Anyone looking for an idea of a good gift for someone who has everything should consider giving a Kiva card.

Considering banks give maybe 2% interest which is usually eaten up by ATM fees, you get alot more satisfaction putting some money into KIVA loans. I get a kick out of seeing the recipients pay the loan back in small increments, it makes me think they are probably doing alright.

Halloween treat for someone at the end of the month?

Great initiative, Mike!

I've just made a loan. Although it's not much, I hope they can make use of it.

Being English I am naturally a sinic but I have liked logging in everynow and thennto see Charles has paid off a bit more. It definitely is a great scheme!

I like the concept of the organization. Thanks, Mike, for the heads up.

Okay, I'm in!

I believe I just successfully joined the team and made my first loan.
