Nice greetings,

I am a freshman and possess the ukulele Ibanez QM-10 UEW concert. I would like to replace the mechanics of the ukulele, and although I would like to use this mechanism. Would be that even possible?

The ukulele has the normal mechanics from Ibanez Factory (Open Gear Tuners). I think these are the ..

Is that hard to change the mechanics? Do I need to drill for it? Or is the size of the mechanicals hole enough for the other mechanik?

A question I would have still, waht it's really different from the high G and low G? Which setting would be beneficial for a beginner?

In advance many thanks for the info..

to help answer the tuners question; what tuners do you want to put on the uke? that will determine what, if any, modifications you need to make.
Go High G as a beginner

From looking up those tuners, the 85b (or 85 series) uses a 11/32" hole and the 8n (or 8 series) uses a 23/64" hole. The pegs require a smaller hole than what is currently in there but 1/64" is pretty small but I'm no specialist in this. You can probably post this in the luthier's section or email Grover directly.
