HELP!....Baritone uke with GCEA strings ...

I sure could use some help!....I'd like to string my Baritone uke with GCEA strings, so that I can then play many of the songs that are written for GCEA uke's..

But, I'm told that I should string these GCEA strings in order of "THICKNESS". Well, if I did that then the tuning would not be GCEA!... am I right?..

So, which is correct GCEA stringing for a baritone ukulele?.....

Are you talking about the difference between GCEA re-enterant tuning and Low G tuning?

Check with Southcoastukes.com......see their string guide! Not sure I've heard from anyone who went back to their old strings, once they've tried their Linear Baritone strings.

Yep Yep- Go visit Dirk and get yourself some Southcoast Linear Strings http://www.southcoastukes.com/stringuide_files/linuke.htm. These are going to tune to GCEA and unlike a standard Ukulele tuning (re-entrant) the fattest string will be on the top (we call this linear or Low G). They sound great on a Baritone (Dirk explains all over the board why this is the best tuning for a Bari- just hit the search function).
