Upon some Youtube video hunting, I came across this:

Apparently its a bass ukulele that takes a special gauge of classical guitar strings.
To my ears, it sounds the best out of all the bass ukes I've heard. I like how it sounds firm and has sustain (more so than the Ubass). According to the maker in one of the comments, the acoustic sound is not bad either as they're classical-guitar-like strings (I'm guessing it's just a very thick wound string).
I wonder how much it costs..

Our new baby out of the ukulele family!
Ukulele Bass? A contradiction in terms?
We have been searching for the perfect strings for our Ukulelenbass and now they have found. Multiple-wrapped nylon strings.
Our bass has the dimensions of a baritone ukulele, a scale length of 53 cm and is constructed of solid wood in our workshop. Very handy and the amazing thing, it sounds, thanks to the construction and the special strings like a "big" bass. And it is tuned exactly like a bass guitar. A real game play purely acoustic and so loud that he can prevail against other acoustic instruments. Who still wants it louder, a pickup is fitted as standard.
