I've seen other posts about getting a hard case for ukulele's. I am
getting a Les Paul electro-acoustic ukulele for christmas. http://en.euroguitar.com/images/products/2831/136774-ulp1-ukulele-les-paul-big.jpg

I really want a good hard case for it as it's a really nice uke' and I want
to keep it in the best condition possible. The problem is I cant find a hard case that will fit this uke!

If anyone knows a place that does them this shape I'd be thankful for
links or if anyone knows how to make a hard case I'm really into making
things so I can have a go at that too!

Cheers,

Hey UkesAreCool,
Are you getting the Mahalo like in the picture?

I've got one of these. It came with a pretty nice soft gig bag. I would imagine that it would fit pretty well in most any soprano uke hard case.

Personally, I'd go with one of the ubiquitous Uke Crazy foam and fabric cases. They're nice and light and will do a good job keeping you new baby safe.

I believe that the Mahalo LP is a concert size Uke, so that may be a good starting point. It may be worth popping along to your nearest Uke shop (assuming you have one in reasonable distance) and seeing if they have a Uke and a case to try, or ask for their advice.
If you want to have a go at building your own case, there is a PDF download here

These are plans for a hard case for a stick dulcimer, but you should be able to adapt them to suit your needs and I am sure the dimensions of your Uke will be online somewhere.

The Mahalo LP is most definitely a soprano sized uke. I just measured to check for sure.

Again i'd say a uke crazy case - these are the cheapest 'hard' cases out there. I don't know that a $65 uke (or at least that's what i paid for mine) can justify a $70+ fremont case - though they are pretty sweet. Going to a store to try cases on for size is a great idea. One of my ukes didn't fit in a the case I bought for it online and I had to use my great new case on a crummy old uke...

Thanks guys! Very near to where I live there is "Westside Music" which are the 3rd largest instrument stockists in the U.K. There are some cases in there much the same as the uke crazy case (special thanks to JamieFromOntario for all his help). So I think I will take a walk down to their shop and do some case testing!
Thanks again guys for your help!
