hello guys i am very new to playing my venezuelan cuatro, but i have problems holding the cuatro while in a standing position, the cuatro wont stay put, it keeps sliding on my t-shirt,should i get a strap? or is there a proper technique to hold the cuatro/ukulele when i standing position?
thanks in advance for advice.

You might want to look into getting a uke leash. Works for me when playing whether sitting or standing-

A strap will definitely help. I am not sure how big a cuarto is, but I was able to use a Uke Leash on my new baritone. A strap button with a full strap will be more stable. The Uke Leash (half strap) doesn't need a strap button, and there is a strap button adapter if you decide you need more support and want to convert it to a full strap. http://ukeleash.com

Yeah, those cuatros are the size of a tenor uke. One of Lori's leashes would keep it in place.

I'd honestly recommend a strap button and a full strap. Cuatro techniques would be very difficult while standing up, I imagine haha.
