I have seen a pineapple uke with a kamaka gold label inside, but no KK on the headstock. Could this be fake?

You can look at my site for Kamaka info (it's in my signature below :) )

But a Gold label is between a 1954-1969, and during that time the headstock KK was a decal. So over time the KK on the one you've seen could have came off, worn off, etc. I've seen some where the KK is almost completely gone.

Could always post some photos here of it :)

Hi Trixielarue,

If you get it & you are ever in Hawaii - take it with you & they can 'authenticate it' for you & may even be able to put the KK back on the headstock.

Neat site, PedalFreak! THanks for that.

That's a great site, but there's problems with a lot of the links not going to the right URLs. Might want to double-check that. :)

Aloha Trixie,
Do you have a picture you can post..if it has a gold label most likely it is one...could have been refinished at one time..
you know if you take it to kamaka and the say it is, they will put on a free new decal for you....
