Hey Gang,

I took a 'buskman's holiday' to Victoria this week...

I'm playing my National Style O Deluxe uke.

Brought a smile to my face and got my foot a tapping. Good job and fun.

A toe-tapping happy rendition. My hat's off to you!

Love the carnival barker chorus at the end. Good one.

Nice job loved it..first national I've heard and played...must have cost alot of moolah...Happy Strummings...thanks for sharing..

Thanks everyone! Yes, that National Style O Deluxe (etchings and engravings, really nice one on the back, but you can see the palm trees on either side of the upper bout) was pricey. But I love it's brass bell-like tone, and it holds its sound well when played hard for acoustic busking. There is no other choice in Victoria, you must be acoustic or you'll attract a whole mess of bad heat and probably get a ticket and a fine, too. In Vancouver, I busk The Skytrain Stations, where I can use my RISA electric ukes (they're pricey, too!), and a Shure mic, which allows me to play the mouth trombone and lets me save the kazoo as a second solo. I know, I sped up a bit at the end, when I jumped up a vocal octave for what peewee calls a 'carnival barker chorus,' but I am very fond of using fermata and tempo changes, so there. Cheers! jj
