Sending a message to all my friends

Is there an easy way to do this without typing all of their names in?

In the main forum menu, click on the dropdown menu for "Quick Links" and select "Open Contacts Popup" which will bring up your friends list.

Unfortunately, I don't see a "select all" option so it looks like you would need to tick the box next to each one. At the bottom of the popup will be a "PM Users" button that will insert all their forum names for you.
