Anyone tried different strings on their Kiwaya? I'd rather not re-invent the wheel if you have personally done the research for me!! Mine is a Pineapple KS2P laminated mahogany. thanks in advance.

I've tried Aquila - didn't like them - loud but dull.
Fremont Black Flurocarbons OK, sort of low but mellow and soft sounding.
Worth Brown Mediums - Like them a lot - sweet and mellow and felt good under the fingers.
Martin flurocarbons M600? - because they were cheap from Thomman - sweet and a bit higher sounding than the Worths. I like them a lot.

Mine is a KS1. Laminate. I believe the pineapple shape is supposed to accentuate lower frequencies so the Martins would seem like an ideal first try.

I usually replace the stock strings with one of the Freemont types. Medium for overall everything and Hard for more of picking style though you can strum hard tension. Clears are nice too.
