How about 3 strings instead of 4?

I just stumbled upon this in an ad on chordie.

Very interesting idea but a little expensive I think.

Neat concept. I'd like to see what could be done with this in the hands of a real musician!

Three string guitars have been arund for a long time, and show up on ebay once in a while. If you're interested in one (with a pickup) for 75$:
