recorded this one this morning while moving house...

not to be confused with the Led Zeppelin tune, this is a blues standard performed in variant versions by the likes of Blind Boy Fuller, Robert Pete Wilkins et al.

CUSTARD PIE (GIMME SOME OF IT)

intro: (G7)(Ab7)(C6)(C)

(C)I aint (G7)joking it (C)aint no (G7)lie:
I (C)want a litle (G7)piece of your (C)custard (C7)pie
You gotta (F)gimme some of it(F7)
You gotta (C)gimme some of it(C6)
You (Bbdim)gotta (G7)gimme some of it be(Ab7)fore you give it (G7)all a(C)way(G7)

(C)Early in the (G7)morning (C)late at (G7)night
I (C)want to show you (G7)how to (C)do things (C7)right
You gotta...

Late in the evening in the afternoon
maybe by the light of the silvery moon
You gotta...

Now I seen you talkin to that guy named Jim
And I think you'd rather give it all to him
But you gotta...

Jack and Jill they went up that hill
If you won't have me then your sister will
You gotta...

Now each time you pass that hot dog stand
I seen you wanna give it to that hot dog man
You gotta...

outro:
You gotta (G7)gimme some of it
Be(Ab7)fore you give it (G7)all a(C)way(C7)(F)(Fmin)(D7)(G7)(C)

hope this helps Dean...

there are a couple of little variations...just hammering on and off with the fingers whioch you can probably tell from the clip...but that's pretty much it

Also, this is by no means a 'definitive' version...especially the outro, I just made that up at the time, you can do whatever you like brother

Blessings mate

Another good thing is that you may create your own dirtily suggestive little verses if you feel like it. In New Orleans, I once heard the great blues singer Big Al Carson come up with new, improvised verses for almost fifteen minutes. One more dirty than the other. The crowd loved every second of it.

Help? All I gotta do now is memorize the words! That is great. What a fun tune! Taking liberties with the words though. The jack and jill line... if you won't bake for me then your sister will. Ha! We are just talking about pie right? AM going to try some of the tapping stuff. That is what really sets your stuff apart. Jon, your playing is the total package, energy, technique, delivery. You got it all. Keep it up, Dean
