Hiya I hope this is in the right place on the forum to post my question.
Anyway what do you think of this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brunswick-Mahogany-Concert-Ukulele-Strings/dp/B002BJUIN2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1321520524&sr=8-1 . My wife has offered to get it for me for Christmas.I'm a beginner with lots of spare time on my hands.
Many thanks
Kev

Don't know anything about that uke, but my advice is to get it from a shop that does a decent setup. The first mistake I made was buy a uke that wasn't setup properly. I had to spend extra cash to get it set up. There are uk-besed shops that do setups, and from what I hear this shop that does sell that same uke does to:

http://www.southernukulelestore.co.uk/Product/0.332/Brunswick-BU4C-Concert-Ukulele-great-beginners-uke!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

You might want to contact Barry over here:

I think he's also on this forum under teh name bazmaz. He has this shop reviewed here:

http://www.gotaukulele.com/2011/08/what-your-favourite-ukulele-store.html

He seems to be knowing what he's talking about, well, at least he's pretending to ;)

good luck!

Thanks for those links.I've emailed the shop to ask if they set them up.If they don't I'll be buying from one of the shops in your link.

yello :)
i have one of these but i atually went for the semi acoustic one i have no idea why but i have an amp lying round the house and thought i might use it in the summer out the back garden, meanwhile my brother then came round and played it and liked it so he went and bought this one which you have shown here and they both sound exactly the same to us, which is a hell of a difference from the mahalo crap that we both started on :)
so in short yes they are good for the money in my opinion, a very nice sound and they come with aquila strings too.

It arrived today (less than 24 hours since ordering) .I really like it. I've spent the last hour on practice sheet 1 of "Uncle Rod's boot camp" . Off out soon then more practice tomorrow.
ps I didn't order through Amazon I contacted the seller direct.
