I've just bought a book from my local Oxfam bookstore entitled "Sixty Old Time Variety Songs", with a handwritten name in it, but dated 1938. It has the full words and music to such greats as "I'm Henery The Eighth", "Man Who Broke The Bank At Monte Carlo", "Silver Threads Among The Gold" and a whole heap of stuff I've never heard!

Inside is the full musical notation, and whilst I can't read music I can remember just about enough from school to pick out the melody line (where would we be without FACE and Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge?). Give me a bit longer and I might be able to have astab at some cords... actually, with my current level of musical knowledge, give me a lot longer...

For £2.99 I reckoned it was worth a go!

Right then, I'm off to play "Daddy Wouldn't Buy Me A Bow-Wow"...

Nice! I love finding little old gems like that for naff all money. Even if I didn't play the tunes, it would make a nice talking point on the bookshelf.
Let us know how you get on. :)
