I was listening to NPR yesterday. At the end of one of the segments, where they often play a piece of music that somehow relates to the topic, they played an obviously old recording of a smooth-voiced man singing with an ukulele accompaniment. It didn't have the "standard" Cliff Edwards qualities that would make him IMMEDIATELY identifiable (I'm not sure how to quantify what I mean there... You know... that certain "Jiminy-ness"), but I'm thinking it might have been a later recording, or possibly one where he was being more serious. I can't remember what the segment was about, so I can't find it on the NPR website. Dang it! Did anyone else hear it? I think it was a song I have on his "Best Of" cd, but it faded out so quickly that I couldn't even catch many of the words.
