This longneck soprano is built using UK-grown woods throughout: The body is London Plane, the neck is tulip wood. Fretboard and bridge laburnum. It is fitted with Grover geared tuners and an Artec undersaddle pickup.

I'm really pleased with this one, both for the looks of the woods and for the sound, which has a hint of longer sustain and more "middle" compared to a regular soprano.

Any feedback gratefully received. Thanks for looking.
Rob.

Congrats. London Plane, eh? Had to google that one. It sure has some beautiful grain.

Nice looking!

London Plane wood? It looks like Sycamore/Lacewood to me.

That is a pretty looking Ukulele and nice to see some UK tonewoods! My custom will be from Cursley and will be English Yew body with ebony fretboard  :iwant:

Thanks - yes, London Plane is a hybrid between American sycamore and a related species from Asia. I reckon it's the most exotic looking wood that is widely-grown in the UK.
