I try to reproduce a sound but can't (laughing not allowed :D)

Hello everybody,

I try to do some picking but this is ridiculously bad

What I try to do is the first 6 seconds of that video : youtube video

What I get is that: try.wma (save as)

What I do in the try.wma is this (couting from the bottom of the string, where bottom = 1)

Em:
1. picking 3'd string
2. picking 2'd string
3. picking 1st string (bottom string)
4. picking 2'd string
5. picking 3'd string
6. picking 2'd string
7. picking 1st string (bottom string)
8. picking 2'd string

C:
Same 1 -> 8


And that sounds awful...

if you are playing the chords right, I would sugest tuning the uke.

she's plucking using a 1-4-3-2 pattern. Pluck the 1st with index finger, 4th with thumb, down to 3rd with thumb then end with 2nd with pointer. Practice with just the C chord first til you get the pattern down.

I got confused by this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH10W0bgZOg @ 2:58 where she explain what I was doing...

Still it doesn't sound like in the video but it's a bit closer though! I may also need some more tuning (I'm using http://www.get-tuned.com/online_ukulele_tuner.php, is it good ?)

That's good for starters, you do have to pluck the string loud to make sure you are on or off the mark.
As soon as you can, save up some moneys and get a good clip-on tuner. It will have a "Clip" feature to allow you to tune up in a noisy room and a "Mic" feature to allow you to fine tune by using the built in microphone.
