Cool ukulele. That "skunk stripe" makes it yours. Nothing better than a Hawaiian ukulele for memories of the islands. Mahalo.

"I visited Hawaii and all I got was this stupid ukulele." :)

That grain is beautiful.

Nice!

I just learned from my local luthier that the "stripe" is the sapwood (versus the heartwood) of the tree.

Congrats! the stripe on the top board looks like some tattoo on one person's face. Add more special appearance to its own looking.

Thanks everyone, yeah I have always wanted an ukulele with sapwood, this one sounded good so I went for it.

Beautiful uke...now you just need something to hang it on :) Ha, I am actually working on some mounts for a vintage glass/oak half circle display case my wife got from her Aunt ;)

Thanks everyone, yeah I have always wanted an ukulele with sapwood, this one sounded good so I went for it.

I'm new to ukes. Please help me understand, everyone. Is sapwood good? It's the sticky xylem wood from the inner tree, right? Is some desirable sound from it to offset the unfinished, unstained (some would say blemished) look of it. I'm trying to see if my non-sapwood ukuleles are missing something. Does it open up more? Thanks in advance.
