View Full Version : Hey Ya cover

I decided to do a cover of Hey Ya. This has been covered a ton on the ukulele, but it really is a great song. I like the slowed down Obadiah Parker version (check them out of if you don't know them) so I don't make you shake it like a polaroid picture.

nice Eric, very very smooth mate. That uke sounded awesome too, and where do you shoot your vids...that blue lighting always looks really cool. Cheers bro

Thanks Jon. I always end up in my yougest boy's room, to get to the quietest part of the house. With two little dudes running around, it can be difficult to find the quiet needed to shoot a video. The light does seem to reflect off his blue walls.

Great job on this one! A perfect cover song because everyone recognizes it, and you did a brilliant job on it mate.
You have not lived until you have seen the Supersuckers do this live- it is HILARIOUS.

Thanks Coriandre. I bought the kiwi for my seven year old last Christmas. I didn't really care for it for a long time, then I took the Aquilas off and put Martin flourocarbons on it. I like it much better now. I do tend to hit my hand on the tuner for the A string, as it and the G string tuner slant toward the fretboard.

Thanks TCK. I just checked out of the Supersuckers performing that song, pretty fun stuff.

Thanks folks, I appreciate every one taking the time to listen.

23skidoo, Obadiah Parker has a pretty cool sound in general, but I think this cover is by far their most popular song. Here is a link to a live YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c745E7T_Wvg&feature=youtube_gdata_player.

Thanks kaizersoza. I use my iPhone to record the videos. I know there are much better choices for recording, but it is very convenient.
