I am having a hard time finding a source for really figured koa wood for a new uke I want to build. I have always ordered from LMI or stew mac when building guitars but am about to try my hand at building a new uke with my dad and wondered where everybody is getting their wood from? I am looking for a really uniquely figured piece of master grade koa to use as the top of the uke, and am thinking about using mahogany for the back and sides to get the best of both worlds as far as tone and aesthetics goes.

Also, any recommendations for plans to use to build a slotted headstock tenor would be appreciated.

Thanks
