There have been mixed reviews for the Ko'olau Golds (plain). I found them to be a little softer, volume wise. I prefer the newer strings like the Alohi sets. These are nylons which will be thicker than your fluorocarbon strings. Tensionwise, I couldn't tell you. For $3.99 a set, that's a great price.

G - .032 Plain Nylon
C - .041 Plain Nylon
E - .035 Plain Nylon
A - .029 Plain Nylon
 
I'm a bit with Danny...not a real fan of those strings for the same reason...they're quiet, just not as dynamic as some other brands. But for that price it's maybe worth having a few sets
 
Thanks for the answers. I am going through the paces trying to get a listen to all of the major brands. Right now I am real happy with the worth browns on my solids. I want to get more educated on the characteristics of a number of strings so I better know starting points on ukes.
