Would turning a left handed ubass into a right handed ubass be as easy as getting a new nut and restringing?

No, you have to change the saddle so it intonates properly.

I just did this two months ago with two Kalas...one a hollow, one a solid...and put in new electronics...for a certain well known left handed bass player who also plays ukulele.

I have only stumbled upon one left handed ubass in the wild, but they used the compensated saddle from the right handed model. It came from the factory like that, and the intonation was pretty off the higher up the fret board you went. I'd try to figure out if yours came the same way before doing anything crazy.

I read somewhere awhile back that someone cut up the saddle to make a right handed ubass left handed...but I believe they had issues with the pick up after that.

Sorry, that's all I have.
