What do you folks use to clean and perhaps diminish the look of scratches, dings, etc. on vintage mahogany ukes? Any difference in how you treat koa ukes? I've used a damp cloth but may need something more on some of my ukes. Also will this affect resale value? Inquiring minds want to know. TIA, g2

I wipe it down with a warm rag or add a little cleaner or soap if there is a build up of oil and grime...then use Nu finish polish...
Like any vintage uke, do a test on the neck by the heel..to see if it affects the different types of finishes..and I do clean the
fretboard too with a toothbrush...then add new strings...

I use naptha to remove gunk & grime and then use Dunlop 65 polish.

Thanks everyone, got some viruoso on order. Happy holidays, g2

I use virtuoso leaner and polish, too.

Um...sorry get the "cleaner." That's what I use, along with the polish. Don't know if they make a "leaner," although I can be a virtuoso leaner when I'm really tired or had too much to drink.

I usr stewmac;s polish, does a good job cleaning too. it has no silicone, which is not supposed to be good,

All these tips are going to come in handy in a week or so....
