Dust can't kill me

Enjoyed this performance very much and what a great song, thankyou.

Yes I think the song speaks about the resilience of the human spirit.
The banks may take your farm and the pawn-shops your furniture,
but is is good if your own soul is not owned by anybody.

I could not resist inserting a little of the Chumbawumba chorus in there,
since they were social activists just like Gurthrie.

Most of the Dust Bowl ballads were recored in 1940 but "dust can't kill me"
was recorded 24 years later in 1964, a long time after the events of the song.
Perhaps it is a good song since it still deals with times of political and economic
unrest.

Good songs jump generations.

Added some video clips and some instrumentation (mandolin washboard harmonica and dan moi)
to the original that I did so it now has more of a cajun two step to it, and it is more rooted in the past
and the dust bowl era.

I saw the title of this thread and thought, "he must not have allergies!" haha. I'm super allergic to dust... then I listened to the song and was impressed! I especially love the dusty video clips! Nice job!
