Song Help Request putting together im yours

okay guys well ive seen 100 things on im yours and ive got the hang of it but im not sure of the bits no1 teaches and how it all goes together
any help any1??

specific example??

like sometimes they do do just 4 strums on each chord with 2 muted strums inbetween each strum and then theres the tab bit but i dunno when you do each bit if ur doing the song i try and listen to is but get muddled because the strumming keeps goin while the tab bit goes so i dunno what to do wen im playin it by myself?

any help? or just gotta try and listen and figure it out?
