Hey everyone.....I need some help. A friend showed me a chord I really love but I have no idea what it is as I understand nothing about music theory.....

g 0
c 0
e 3
a 5

Thanks!

Here's a great link: http://ukulelehelper.com/ According the the Helper, it's Gsus4 or Csus2, depending on the context.....

I love the text I get on that website:

C2 or Gsus depending on context. Could also be part of a C9 or Cadd9, etc. All depends on context. If you're using it in a "straight" song in the key of C then C2 is the most likely suspect (though could still be Gsus). If you're playing a blues piece it's likely part of a C9. If you're playing in Eb it's most likely part of a Cm9, etc. Context is everything when you have only four strings. :)

I'd say Csus2 if you're tuned in re-entrent and Gsus4 if you're tuned low g.

This is the first chord I use when picking out Cindy Laupers "Time after Time".... beginning of the verse...

Thanks so much everyone. This is really helpful.

Truth be told, I liked the ring of the chord so much that as I was strumming it, I wrote a song starting with this chord. It's the first song I have written. It just kind of came to me out of strumming this chord. Now I can write the chords in above the lyrics!

I have a lot of gratitude for all the members of the UU community, thanks to all!
