Sounds like a bit of Tom Waits DNA snuck in there too! 
Great stuff - this songs oe tv all the time at the moment in the uk in a Sainsburys advert - I didn't actually realise it was a formby song. It's not a formby version they use that's for sure. Great stuff, I've learnt a lot watching your videos!

Yeah he did that song a lot later in life. I can only tell its him by the solos and the laughing. People always tell me I have a similar sound to Tom Waits. I'm gonna have to check that guy out once I'm over my Formby obsession. Happy Holidays!

You play the G and the B7 with a 2nd fret barre right? And then open for the C.
Works fine but it did make me wonder if the original was played on a D tuned uke.
Nice either way.

That's correct. Yeah, it probably was a D tuning. Most of George's song are usually D. I play it in both keys. I like singing it better in C though. Heck, in Swimmin with the Women's case it's Eb. I always think the G string is going to pop off and hit me in the eye.
