I could never afford such an amazing instrument on account of me being in high school, but out of curiosity whats the difference between the two soundwise?

no difference at all. Same wood, same builders, same construction process.

Only differences that account for the price discrepancy between the two models are:

1. classic affords you a far wider range of wood choices
2. classic affords you an abalone rosette and fretboard markers. tradition fretboard markers are pearl.
3. tradition does not have gloss finish as an option
4. classic have a wide range of wood bindings for the fretboard and body.

Essentially your uke will sound exactly the same whatever way you lean...

There are also some options for which you are charged an additional fee (such as cutaway, MiSi instead of K&K Twin Spot, and slotted headstock) that are listed for classics but not for traditions.

In addition, as Jon stated, you have access to wood sets when you order a classicthat you'd either have to pay extra for or can't get at all if you order a tradition and the fretboard markers on the classic are abalone, while those on the tradition are mother of pearl. Also, the classic has more fretboard markers and more side fret markers than the tradition does. I forget which ones are "missing' on the tradition, but it bothered me enough that Mya-Moe agreed to put a classic fretboard on the tenor tradition I've ordered.
