Here is my Christmas present to all the UU members. A short list of some of the best video posters on UU in my opinion. This is by no means a top ten and I am sure that I have forgotten many great ones. Every video posted as a great value as the posters shares a bit of themselves with us. But, if you are only going to watch 10 videos, these are must see.

1- Eugene ukulele. Jon is one of the most prolific members and really, a foundation of what UU is all about. He has an enormous catalogue of songs and brings us back through time with great melodies that we often forget. He seems to have a flawless memory for chords and vocals that he plays with ease and taste. Here is one of my favorites :

2-Wee_ginga_yin. This man is an architect when it comes to putting video to music. His videos are so well done that he could do this professionaly in my opinion. And lets not forget the music ! He does not do covers, he makes the songs his own changing the tempo and using various effects. Watching his videos is like opening a new door every time. Arstistic originality at its best.......Here is a sample

3- Olarn. I love what this man does. Beautiful arrangements, nothing hurried or flashy. Just pure heart felt melodies. He is a great player and makes every song look easy to play. He always seems to do songs that I particuliary enjoy.....lucky me  Here is a great example :

4-Bornagainjeeper. The man with the golden voice. How I wish I could sing like him ! The emotion he transmits in his voice gives me goosebumps. The way he can just let himself go and freefall in a song is remarquable.

5- DrBekken. If you can watch one of his videos without tapping your feet, you need to see a doctor....a DR Bekken of course. Great player and great atmosphere in his music. The songs just flow out of his hands and touch us in a very special way with ageless melodies. Rumor has that he is related to Jon.....

6-Simplyjoyce. The ukulele and the aloha spirit unites us all. Is there a better way to enjoy it than watch a video from Joyce ? Joyce's videos are all about having fun and a good time. It is ukulele therapy with every new video and to top it off, she has a great voice ! Watch and smile

7- Arakawa. Some people just have a raw talent for music and playing ukulele and he is a fine example of this. Just an incredible talent.....watch out Jake !

8- Dougf. Here is an other man with a great talent. His talent is in songwriting. To arrange chords, melody and feeling into one takes a special talent that Doug is blessed with. I always enjoy watching his videos

9- 23skidoo. Bill does incredible work on his videos with a mix of original songs and songs that cross the years and styles. Multi-talented, his videos with multi-tracks and multi screens are classics. Always a pleasure to watch.

10- KenMiddleton. We are blessed to have Ken here on UU. Not only is he a professional in the industry, he shares great videos of songs masterly played and often with other artist. We also get to view some beautiful scenery in his videos as he visits the world with his ukulele. Good times, improvisations, classics, smiles and collaborations......the aloha spirit at its finest

There are so many more that I could have mentionned here......

Merry Christmas to all
Take care of the ones you love and keep on strumming

Hi. I'm new to ukulele, browsing the internet to find good ukulele music. Thank you for this wonderful selection.:D

Great list, Coriandre - look forward to checking them all out. I've heard some, but not all! Well done

Roberta

Sorry but your list is incomplete without including keonepax. I don't know how to do a link.

What a nice little Christmas surprise, merci beaucoup, Luc! Best holiday wishes to you and your family.

Doug

Thankyou so much for taking the time and considerable effort to compile this list Coriandre, 1 - 10 are absolutely brilliant in so many ways, not just for their talent but for their willingness to share the passion and joy of music and the happiness that the uke can bring to us all. It must have been an agonising task selecting only 10 simply because there are so many other fantastic people here at UU that contribute such fine work. Great job well done, thankyou.
Best wishes for a safe and happy Christmas 2011 and the New Year of 2012.

Thank you. It was not an easy task choosing only 10.....there are so many deserving posters. I tried choosing a variety of styles and talents.

I agree Roxhum. Keonepax posts great videos and I really enjoy them. He was in my thoughts as were many others that easily come to mind. My intent was not to do a top ten. Just to choose 10 posters of videos that have different talents and approach to the ukulele and video.

And no ws64 He should have been at least no 2.

Eugene gets no 1 cause it's all original songs but ws64 arrangements come on!

Olarte, there is no number 1 or number 2, it is not a top ten list. I just listed 10 videos from posters with different music and approaches to song and video. The numbers are random as this is not a "best of" by any means. ws64 like many others are well deserving posters
